Jazz/Hip-Hop

The jazz / Hip-hop program at SNHDT focuses on developing strong lines, technique, command of proper terminology and an understanding of the body's center of movement. This class will explore both the Broadway and Hip-hop styles of jazz. The Broadway style is what is seen in Musicals such as Chorus Line, 42nd Second Street and High School Musical. Hip-hop is the style of jazz that is often seen in music videos today.

This combined program allows students to take the most popular forms of dance in one class. The Jazz/Hip Hop class teaches the fundamental jazz steps and combines the elements of hip hop moves and contemporary music.
