Valentine Gala Raises Money For SNHYB

The third annual SNHYB benefit Valentine Gala was another success, earning approximately $7,000 for the youth ballet. This year’s event was held on February 10th at the Manchester Country club with a romantic pink Valentine’s Day theme. Highlights of the event included a live auction led by auctioneer Chuck Morshead, a performance by SNHYB company dancers, and a musical performance by senior company member Jessica Davison, who sang an excerpt from the musical Crazy for You. The evening ended with dancing and guests enjoying a lavish chocolate fountain.

"We are trying to keep this event fresh and exciting. For example, the addition of a live auction element entertained the crowd, and provided us a great avenue for fundraising. We fell short of our overall fundraising goal this year, but all in attendance agreed it was our best Gala ever!" said board member and event coordinator Amy LaBelle. The funds generated by the Gala will be used to offset the expenses of attending the Regional Dance America Festival, hiring guest choreographers and other guest artists, and other SNHYB projects.

The Gala was successful due to the generous donations of auction items and personal time. SNHYB would like to thank all those who donated items, and especially the volunteers who helped make the evening such a delight: Lisa David, Peggy Farrar, Robyn Goulette, Sandra & Robert LeRette, Jane Lyttle, Betty Mehlhorn, Shawna Pearson, Vicki Reed, Cathy Rogers-Holmes, Theresa Sculley, Susie Vachon. Also thanks to board members Megan C.N. Andrews, Melissa Desrosiers, Amy LaBelle, and Anne Marie Southwell.
